The Friends of Bellevue Park are holding a Scarecrow Festival to raise money towards a WW1 memorial garden which will be situated in the park. The Festival takes place from Friday 28th to Monday 31st July, with judging taking place during the Music in the Park event on the Friday night.
If Scout Groups would like to make a scarecrow, they can bring it along to the park and tie it to one of the trees in the park near to or on the bandstand before 6pm on 28th July. The Friends are suggesting a minimum £1 donation per scarecrow, but perhaps Groups could collect this per Scout involved to up the amount a bit.

Friends of Bellevue Park are a small group of local residents that help with events in the park. The WW1 memorial garden will include a book of remembrance which will be open to all residents of the Wrexham County Borough.
Coleg Cambria has come on board with the project and are supplying a carved Welsh Dragon made by four young students as part of their coursework. Also some large metal poppies to enhance the stone monument. The words “In memory of all who served or fell in WW1 from Wrexham County Borough” will be inscribed on the stone and there will be a WW1 Death Penny set in the stone for Children to do rubbings.
The Friends of the Park meet 11am on the first Friday of each month in the park office and anyone interested is welcome to attend.
