Volunteering at Scouts is changing to help us reach more young people - Discover what this means

Hanmer Fund

The Wrexham District Trustee Board (The Board) is pleased to be able to offer funding to all Wrexham District Scout Groups and Units including Explorers, Network, Coxwood and District, to help support young people in their personal development, empowering them to make a positive contribution to society.

The fund will be managed by The Board via applications from Group/Unit Leaders and is limited to one application per Group/Unit.  Funds will be released early in the 2025-26 financial year and must be spent by Groups during the same financial year and by 31 March 2026.

The fund can be accessed to provide additional resources, fun, challenge and adventure that Groups/Units may otherwise not be able undertake for example activities, events camps, travel, additional resources/equipment.

The Board would ask however that Group/Unit Leaders look at using the additional funding, where possible, to help meet the development/priorities of the Group/Unit and the Wrexham District Development Plan.

The fund is finite and the amount that can be claimed will be capped at a maximum amount of £1000.  There can, therefore, be no guarantees that a request will be met in full on every occasion. All applications will be treated equally and on their own merits.  We ask that you keep and submit evidence to support your funding.

In addition, The Board require feedback on how the additional funds helped support your Group/Unit as this will form part of the Wrexham District Scout Council Annual Report & Accounts 2025.

If your Group/Unit needs a little financial help in order to enjoy Scouting, please complete the online application form below for submission to The Board. Applications to be submitted by 31 March 2025.
