Bronze Duke of Edinburgh successful qualifying expedition 28th – 29th October 2017.

The group consisting of Bishop’s Own ESU’s Emre Erkul along with the Guides Senior Section’s Lexi Edwards, Mollie Pemberton, Phoebe Adamson, Sian Williams and Eleanor set off from Carrog Station on the Saturdaay morning  taking a route over the mountains towards the Ponderosa and spending the night at Llyn Rhys campsite. On the Sunday morning they then set off towards Graig Fechan and the finish line.

The 2 day expedition tested the groups navigation and expedition skills over varying terrain, the group pulled together well and spirits remained high despite being tired from the days walking. It was good to see how far they had progressed from their practice expedition to enable them to make their qualifying expedition a success.

The group were supervised by Atlas ESU’s Steve Davies and 1st Rhosnesni Scouts Ray Lindley. The assessor for the expedition was Wrexham Disrict DESC (Unit Liason) Adrian Brian.
