Please can as many Section Leaders and Group Scout Leaders as possible join one of two Zoom meetings we’re putting on about the District Waiting List.

We want to make sure that we are all following the same procedure regarding joining enquiries so that all young people who want to join us are given the same chance.

It seems that in some cases parents are approaching Leaders direct to ask for a place in their Section and those Leaders are saying yes and letting them join without first checking there aren’t people on the District Waiting List who asked to join first.

There are also young people off the District Waiting List who have been accepted to join a Section, and transferred to that Section’s OSM, but then not contacted and the transfer not accepted.

We currently have 36 young people on the waiting list – please can I ask that everyone works together to get as many of them into Scouting as quickly, but also as fairly, as possible.
