A massive congratulations to our Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Gold expedition heroes! Eighteen young people from Wrexham, from Atlas and Bryn-y-Pys Explorers, Young Leaders and two Guides who volunteer with Cubs in Llangollen, have completed one of our most gruelling challenges.

Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, these young people were determined to carry on and work on their Awards. They weren’t able to camp over having to travel home each night, but still had to walk for 8 hours each day over 4 days, navigate their own ways, complete a project and feed themselves.

To earn the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award they also develop a new skill, improve their physical fitness, and volunteer in their local community.

Well done to all the young people who took part, and thanks to the volunteer Leaders who made it all possible through their support, guidance and training.
