We used three District events for Beavers, Cubs and Scouts for #YouShape this year, in each case asking those young people who went along for their opinions on future activities.
For the Beavers, Assistant District Youth Commissioner Katie invaded the District trip to Techniquest and manned her table throughout the day where the kids voted for where their autumn trip would be. The winner was… Gulliver’s World! So that’s where we’re going in September.
For the Cubs, we sent a voting box with each of the three coaches going to Cadbury World. The Cubs were asked to choose a venue for their It’s a Knockout Camp in the autumn. They chose Cox Wood! See the video from ADYC Cubs Max!
Finally, the Scouts had the biggest decision to make. During Frost Camp they picked somewhere a bit warmer for their District expedition for 2018 – Croatia. They also came up with loads of great ideas for District events including Wrexham 24, a local version of the Explorer Scout event, and that fundraising for a good cause would be a great thing to do as a District for Christmas.
