Virgin Money Giving are inviting local Scout groups in the district to trial Virgin Money Giving. They understand some groups are fully into OSM, however, you can still use Virgin Money Giving alongside this, plus it automatically claims the gift aid at no additional cost – that’s an additional 25p for every £1.
Some background information:
Virgin Money Giving is a not-for-profit online donation and fundraising service backed by Virgin Money. To date they have 14,000 charities using us and are partners with some major events including the London Marathon, Ride-London and Royal Parks Half Marathon to name a few.
Main benefits of using Virgin Money Giving for local Scout groups:
1) Ease of use with payment methods that suit all donors – paypal, debit/credit cards
2) Gains a greater audience for attracting fundraising than traditional methods
3) Ease and speed of payments including gift aid claimed automatically with very little administration
To give a favour of how local Scout groups are using Virgin Money Giving, please see examples below:
- Collect subscription fees online PLUS automatically collects the Gift Aid saving you time – this can be set up as a single or a regular payment
- Appeal to raise funds for example a new community hallor a trip to Iceland
- Being sponsored to do a challenge event like cyclingor any number of challenges to raise money
- In support or in memory of someone
So what does it cost?:
- It’s FREE to register – normally a one off set up fee of £150 + VAT is charged to register on Virgin Money Giving, however this has been waived for local Scout groups
- There are no monthly fees
- Gift aid collected automatically at no charge – that’s an additional 25p in the £1
- Collection of Subs and donations online – we charge 2% on the Subs and donations
They also offer FREE weekly training, a friendly and supportive helpdesk team and reporting tools so that local Scout groups can easily see where the money has come from and who has paid their subs etc.
